Careers

Pupils at Orchardside School engage in a programme of Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) form Year 7 to Year 11. This reflects the Gatsby benchmarks.

At Orchardside School, the Strategic Lead responsible for Careers is the Deputy Head teacher, who is supported by the Work Related Learning Coordinator, Lianne Raymond, who plans and co-ordinates the careers offer at Orchardside. The Governor responsible for Careers is Ms Sarah Carrington.

How can you support your child’s Career progression in Year 11 of Orchardside School.

Preparing for life after year 11 is a stressful time to any student so it is important that they are supported throughout this transition. Students are encouraged to get college applications completed by December of year 11 and to visit as many open days as possible to gain a deeper insight on their chosen path. Please encourage students to use the websites below so they are up to date with all the latest information on the different pathways available to them post year 11.
